Here's the deal... my skin is not perfect. I know - big shocker right? I had acne in high school which has resulted in scars... and now I'm battling hormonal acne along my jawline. Having problem skin has kept me on the lookout for different treatments, fixes, and coverup. When I first heard about August + Monroe's Blemish Camouflage, I was like SIGN ME UP!

Today on the blog I want to talk about my love for this new found coverup and why it had me at 'camouflage'.

First I need to say I am not in any way a dermatologist - only a girl who has battled acne her entire life. What works for me may not work for you... but this blemish concealer is way too good not to share. So here we go.

The first thing that intrigued me with my August + Monroe Blemish Camouflage is that it is a 3-in-1 treatment formula. What does that mean? This blemish concealer not only primes and conceals to hide my breakouts... it also heals. That's right - this product heals skin blemishes. For years I've been throwing any concealer I can get my hands on on top of my blemishes only to wash my face at night and reveal even more breakouts. My face would only clear up on days I chose not to wear any makeup. So annoying.

August + Monroe is an acne fighting formula, so I actually wear it around the clock. At night, after I wash my face, I dab my August + Monroe Camouflage onto any blemishes, keeping it white so that the product soaks in over night. Also, the applicator tip is silicone which means no bacteria buildup. This product heals while still being gentle. No more over drying - which is huge for this Minnesota girl. (The winter months can be so incredibly drying on my skin)

For daytime, I start with a clean face and once again, dab on my August + Monroe concealer. This time, using my finger, I rub the concealer in a circular motion. The concealer begins blending in and camouflaging my breakouts. The more you rub, the darker the product becomes... seriously it's like magic. The coverage is amazing - truly like camouflage. When I hit the gym, I only need to wear my August + Monroe - which feels amazing.

When I do put on a full face of makeup, August + Monroe Camouflage primes my breakouts beautifully. The coverage is not oily or greasy, so my makeup stays put which makes me feel confident all day.

If you battle breakouts at all, I totally recommend trying August + Monroe Blemish Camouflage. It has been a total game changer for me. To learn more, visit www.augustmonroe.com.

Have you checked out the new split hem pants trend? I recently picked up a pair and can't believe how fun and easy they are to style. Dressed up or down, these flare leggings are sure to get a lot of milage year round.

Today on the blog I'll be sharing four easy ways to style this new trend. Get ready to add a pair of split hem leggings to your closet!

First, I threw on an oversized graphic tee and did a front tuck to show off my waistline. I'm a Minnesota girl, and winter here is still in full force, so I layered a turtle neck under my t shirt. I love how this easy add gave me warmth AND a little edge. To finish off my look, I added a cute pair of trendy sneaks. Because of the split hem and the flare, think chunky. The pants will fall over your shoes in the cutest way and give the illusion of thinner, longer legs. Have fun experimenting with a long sleeve t-shirt or rugby-style shirt. And remember to add that front tuck for a little shape.

For my next look, I threw on a simple basic tank layered over a lacy bralette. I then added an oversized denim jacket and fun slides. My tank top is fitted along with the pants, so adding an oversized jacket doesn't compromise my shape or make me look sloppy. This style is just easy, effortless, casual and cool. Perfect for running around. I'm wearing my Golden Goose slides, but Birkenstocks would look so cute also. When choosing your footwear, just think chunky.

Next, I layered on an oversized pullover. I'm wearing a half-zip, but any sweatshirt would work. Don't be afraid to go oversized to give your style a little edge. One of my favorite things to do is shop the men's section for hoodies - I typically purchase a men's size medium for the perfect oversized fit.

This time, I styled my look with combat boots. I wanted to show just how versatile these pants are... but trendy sneakers or slides would look equally as cute. Again, I added a front tuck to show off my waist and give my outfit shape.

Finally, I decided to dress up the pants with a sweater and platform shoes. I'm wearing a basic black turtleneck sweater for a monochrome look, but don't be afraid of adding a pop of color or a graphic. Try to choose a sweater that falls straight insead of gathering at the waist. It will give you the illusion of looking longer / taller. Also- I'm wearing a platform block heel - sticking with the chucky shoes. This look is dressy enough for a date night or just a trip to the mall. The comfort factor of these pants is EVERYTHING!

Now you've seen the ease of styling split hem pants. I hope I've inspired you to try a pair and discover the comfort behind these pants as well. Happy styling!

I recently picked up a white shirtdress and instantly fell in love. I have found countless ways to style it, and all while shopping my own closet. Whether you're looking for cute work attire or a fun date night look, this is sure to become a new closet staple. And styled right, a shirtdress can be worn year round.

Today on the blog I'll be sharing four easy ways to style a white button-down shirtdress. Get ready to be inspired!

For my first look, I simply belted my shirtdress and styled it with a pair of over-the-knee boots. I'm wearing one of my favorite leather wrap belts by All Santaella linked here, but any belt would work. I love the thought of styling this with a cute belt buckle or even a chain belt. And don't be afraid of adding a pop of color on this white canvas like I did with my olive green belt.

For my next look, I layered a cropped sweater over the dress and styled with some over-the-knee boots. Have fun layering short or long sleeve sweaters... solids or graphics. The cropped fit will add length to your body, making you feel just a little more taller and leggier... how's that for a word! I love the flirty vibes of this look - perfect for date night or girls night out.

Next, I layered on an oversized sweater. Styled with combat boots and a crossbody, I have a comfy and effortless look perfect for running around on the daily. Again, have fun playing with colors. My sweater, boots, and bag are all navy, but you could easily mix and match... for example, think red sweater with black boots and bag... the perfect look for Valentine's Day.

Finally, I'm adding a little casual chic style with my oversized sweater vest. I rolled my sleeves to tame down the oversized fit, adding a little shape to my look. Paired with black short boots and a paperboy hat, I'm feeling trendy and ready for anything.

I hope I've inspired you to add a shirtdress to your wardrobe. With so many ways to style, you're sure to get lots of mileage out of this closet staple. Happy styling!
