November Blog

The holidays are quickly approaching and with that comes many family traditions, including recipes that we all look forward to making and eating. Growing up, my grandma made the best apple pies. Everybody thought so and everybody loved them. I remember calling my grandma and asking for her piecrust recipe. My granbdma just laughted and said, "Oh Emily, I've been using Pillsbury ready-made pie crust for years." Talk about an easy recipe! Ever since that phone call, I have proudly used my Pillsbury ready-made piecrust and nobody has ever complained. Of course I take a little extra time to make my top crust as fancy as I can... but I like to be a little extra like that. Holidays are all about having fun and not stressing about the little things. Give this piecrust "recipe" a try... it's super easy, stress-free, and a family favorite!

Supplies:

Bottle of choice

Tulle

Piece of cardboard

Packing tape

Piece of fabric

Orange paper

Red paper

Google eyes

LET’S CRAFT:

Step 1: Take your tulle and lay it over the top of the card board

Step 2: Taking a piece of tape, lay it across the cardboard securing the tulle.  The cardboard should be in the middle of the tulle.

Step 3: Tape the cardboard with tulle onto the wine bottle

Step 4: Take fabric & wrap it around the bottle- on the front of your wine bottle (opposite the cardboard) pull knot about 1/2 way through (this will be your turkey face)

Step 5: Tie the tulle into bows making sure the bows are at the top of the cardboard (this will be your turkey tail)

Step 6: Take orange paper and cut into a beak. Red paper or red ribbon is for the wattles (those red dangly things) of your turkey

Step 7: Attach beak, wattles and googly eyes
